However, on race day, our vehicle took a turn for the worse. It went 2m, 3m, and 4m in that order. We tried adjusting things and so it slowly improved, but it didn't get up to what we had hoped it would. However, when we set it off in the drag race against Quinton's team, our vehicle went atleast 6 meters! It went from a very consistent vehicle to a vehicle that was all over the map. I guess it goes to show that whatever can go wrong, will go wrong.
If I could modify our current car to make it better, I would get it so the axles aren't sliding around causing resistance, and that they would stay in the same place. I would likely want to do this by drilling holes in our chassis and putting the axles in the holes so that they stay in place. I think that without this resistance, our vehicle could've gone much farther.
If I could design a completely new car, I would likely find some parts from a toy car that already exists. This would make it easier in terms of wheels and axles, because I wouldn't have to build it myself, and it would likely go farther because it was professionally made.
On our current vehicle, I would tweak it by tightening the string and positioning the front axle so that the wheels don't rub against the side of our chassis.
